Spend a morning with your genealogy sleeves rolled-up and explore the resources in the genealogy room at Morley Library, Painesville to find answers to your genealogy questions.  Have a question or topic in mind as a starting point such as researching Civil War records.  Bring your notepad or laptop, camera or cell phone.  While I anticipate concentrating on the book sources in the room, if you think you might need to go on-line with one of the library computers, bring along your genealogy site passwords just in case.

The NEHGS Library is providing free access to books on their Digital Collections website. This collection is usually only available to society members. The collection includes:

• city directories
• family history books
• local history books

Ancestry Library is available remotely to all Ohio library cardholders through April, courtesy of ProQuest and its partner Ancestry. Access to Ancestry Library is provided by Libraries Connect Ohio.

Visit https://ohioweblibrary.org/db/ancestry and enter your Ohio public library card number to access Ancestry Library.

We are very pleased to report that Morley Library has become a FamilySearch affiliate library. As you know, many record sets on FamilySearch have restrictions. Affiliate libraries have privileges to access many of these restricted-access FamilySearch databases.

You must use FamilySearch in the library to take advantage of the enhanced access. Morley Library is open Monday thru Thursday, 9:00 am – 9:00 pm; Friday, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. There are limited hours on Sundays (October through April only).
