Mentor
The Lake County Historical Society has a file of cemetery information. One of the notes in it states that a stone was found across from Mentor High School on Route 615 behind the feed mill. Upon calling the family who found the stone, it was described as being in a field next to 6400 Center Street, to the north in a lot behind Merey Photography. It may be in a still undeveloped piece of land which is landlocked.
This Schreibner stone was read by the family whose 13 year old daughter found the stone.
Reported in LakeLines, the newsletter of the Lake County Genealogical Society, a Senors child’s gravestone was found near Tyler Boulevard Extension in Mentor.
A report of a stillborn burial in front of the farm house under a huge pine tree, 6-10 feet from the road was made. It is on the Proudfoot farm on Plains Road, further west from 8216, in front of Edwin Proudfoot’s house in lot 7. This was the child of Edwin and Ida French Proudfoot.
