March 26 Meeting

Have you ever wanted to find your “Roots” by learning how to research your ancestors; create a family tree, or even find some unknown past and present relatives? Please join us as we share information on where and how to conduct genealogical research from society members and local genealogy experts.

On Thursday, March 26, 2020, at 10:00 am, the Lake County Genealogical Society (LCGS) will have our monthly meeting. Our speaker will be Chris Staats who will tell us about “Analysis and Correlation: Two Keys to Sound Conclusions.” Careful analysis of individual records may reveal more evidence than we might think. Careful correlation combines all the evidence to solve difficult research problems.

Chris Staats is a Cleveland, Ohio-based professional genealogical researcher, presenter, and writer. He has written articles for Family Tree Magazine, Association of Professional Genealogists Quarterly, and other publications. Chris has given presentations covering methodology, resources, technology, and other topics at genealogical societies and libraries across Ohio. He is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists and Seminar Chairperson for the Western Reserve Historical Society’s Genealogical Committee.

Lake County Genealogical Society meetings are typically held on the last Thursday of the month from 10:00 am to noon. We meet in the Morley Library basement (184 Phelps St., Painesville). There are no meetings in August and December. Please check our web site (www.lcgsohio.org) for any changes in meeting date/time/location or call Bonnie at 440-428-3783 or Cynthia at 440-951-0914 for additional information.
