On May 30 at 10:00 am, Cynthia Turk will talk about “Our Local Probate Digitization Projects and Tips for Finding the Records.” It sounds very specific to our area, but all the principles apply elsewhere. She will share her experience with the project, some wonderful finds in the records, and some little used indexing resources.
Cynthia began her genealogy in the early 1990s and began taking clients in 1995. She is the past president of Lake County Genealogical Society and Northeast Ohio Computer-Aided Genealogy Society and a member of OGS, NGS, APG and others. Her book, Scranton Road Cemetery: Introduction, Inscriptions, and Interments is still available. Her time is filled with many projects, web mastering two GenWeb sites, and indexing projects including FamilySearch. Her ancestors are in lineage groups for Ohio, Lake County, and Cuyahoga County.
Lake County Genealogical Society meetings are held on the last Thursday of the month from 10:00 am to noon in the Morley Library basement (184 Phelps St., Painesville). Call Dave at 440-209-1639 or Cynthia at 440-951-0914 for more information. Guests are always welcome!
