Lake County Records of Interest
Cynthia Turk maintains this helpful compilation of resources for Lake County. We offer this convenient resource in pdf format.
Cemeteries
Between 1998 and 2000 the Society enumerated Lake County’s more than 100 cemeteries, a huge project that we take great pride in.
Naturalizations
The Society abstracted the naturalization petitions from the Lake County Probate Court (1860-1906) and the Lake County Common Pleas Court (1906-1975). This includes Declarations of Intention and petitions that failed for a variety of reasons.
School Records
Our current project is a huge collection of monthly teacher reports from the early 1910s. The typing has been completed and the files are currently being proofed and compiled for publication here. Posting of the records will be gradual as they become available so please be patient.
